STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥斢；ǖ己 樱花导航 University is once again being recognized nationally as a top 10 university for support of the veteran community.
聽VIQTORY, formerly Victory Media, awarded MSU the distinction in its recently released Military Friendly Schools rankings for 2022-2023, marking the third consecutive year MSU has earned the designation.
Building on historic military roots, MSU has long been recognized as one of the nation鈥檚 most veteran-friendly universities. Including dependents, the veteran community at MSU now comprises more than 3,100 students. These students are served by MSU鈥檚 G.V. 鈥淪onny鈥 Montgomery Center for America鈥檚 Veterans at Nusz Hall and a network of specially trained university personnel.
鈥淚 continue to be proud of the overwhelming support our veterans and military-connected students receive throughout our campus community,鈥 said Brian Locke, MSU director of veteran and military affairs. 鈥淭his is our third straight year of being awarded the top 10 designation, which is a testament to the staff of the Center for America鈥檚 Veterans and the work they perform on behalf of our students every day. Our goal has always been to be the top choice of veterans and military-connected students in the state and nation.鈥
MSU offers an out-of-state tuition waiver for military members, veterans and dependents. In 2018, MSU became the first university in the state to offer free tuition to members of the 樱花导航 National Guard through the Bulldog Free Tuition Program. Veterans and current military members can transfer technical credits earned through the military toward a bachelor鈥檚 degree through MSU鈥檚 Bachelor of Applied Science program.
In 2016, MSU completed construction of Nusz Hall, a 7,500 square-foot campus facility that features administrative offices, meeting areas, study rooms, a computer lab, and indoor and outdoor spaces for social and recreational activities. The center serves as a one-stop shop for processing all veteran educational benefits.
VIQTORY鈥檚 evaluation shows that MSU exceeded standards in all measured categories, including culture, financial aid, military student support and retention, as well as academic policies and compliance. For more, see .
